Dear Club Members
We your Committee are trying to form a new Recruitment Team who would take over the set up and construction of the recruitment days for 2015 and the future. This important role involves set up of gazebo and associated items to form a stand to promote the Club’s Skills for Life courses which are held throughout the year. The events at present are held at two locations Staffordshire Triumph Stoke-on-Trent & J & S Accessories Delamere off the A556, we need a team to help us all in pure promotion only and I would ask all Members of the Club if you think or want to help the Club in this very important role to come forward and we will all help to assist yourselves to succeed in the above.
Please contact either myself or any Member of the Committee to show your interest with all contact details on the Website
We have cordially arranged two presentation evenings to make those long none motorcycle riding nights a little more interesting. The first is on the 29th January @ Sandbach Fire Station for a ”Biker Down” presentation by Cheshire Fire Brigade. The evening begins at an earlier time of 7.00pm , the evening consists of a ”First Bike on the Scene” situation and runs through the scenario’s and the do’s & don’ts of such situations. Everyone completing the evening will receive a Certificate and I am sure will be an eventful & enjoyable evening .
If the above interests yourselves as I hope it does please email the Committee confirming your interest to attend.
The second presentation is at Cheshire Fire Brigade Headquarters Winsford , Dragon Moto Tours namely Geraint & Jan Hughes will be presenting their ”How do you Read the Road” and some useful tips on Motorcycling Holidays abroad. Geraint is well known to ourselves being a Club Member & I.A.M. Test Examiner, having set up D.M.T. numerous years ago and being a Kawasaki UK Partner, the night will be I guarantee a banter filled and interesting night with refreshments laid on. So for a night out away from the television and being entertained about motorcycling come along to Cheshire Fire Brigade Headquarters Sadler Drive , Winsford Cheshire @ 8.00pm start.
All details can be found on the diary/calendar page of the website.
Please come along to these events, they have been organised for your benefit and the Club so a good turnout would be wonderful for all involved, hope to see you all in on the night.
For all those who attended our Christmas Dinner last night (12th Dec) at the Cheshire Tavern @ Congleton , make thanks for your company
and a good fun evening with likeminded people.
Hope you all have a Good Christmas and myself and Karen wish you all the best for the New Year

Well Ride out to the Lakeland Museum is over. after meeting up at Grand Retail Park a total of 21 bikes set off heading to Kirkby Lonsdale. First mishap Aldi with one of us rushing of to Wheelock for a new rear tyre and joining us later at the Museum, the second mishap was a breakdown on A59 Whalley, thankfully all made it home safely thanks to Mr RAC man. The aforementioned will all re-nameless but you know who you are !!!!!!. Stop of at Devil’s Bridge for quick coffee or for me large ice cream oh Dave Coomber had a double cheese burger to tied over to lunch. Arrived at Lakeland for 1pm nice lunch and couple of hours walking round an excellent car/motorcycle museum and then back home for tea.
Thank you to all who attended hope you had a good day and looking forward to the next one , I will be trying to arrange one in mid Sept heading off to RAF Cosford . Will give a more detailed account of ride out in my July edition Chairman’s Letter
Hope to see you all again soon , keep riding and be safe
Take a look at the Ride out blog for details of South Cheshire ride out on 27th July , look what you might miss !!!!!!!
Ladies & Gents
It gave myself great pleasure last evening at the Associate Presentation at the Hawk to recognise your Chief Observer for all his hard work and dedication over an 18 year period by presenting/making on your behalf Chris Steel Chief Observer an Honorary Member of South Cheshire Advanced Motorcyclists.
It has been a tough few years for Chris and running the club in his capacity of Chairman & Chief Observer is no mean feat and with that in mind it was decided by the Committee to recognise this dedication to the Club and it’s members. Well Done Chris and well deserved however please note we still need many more years from you .
There will be photographs to follow so watch out Chris your on candid camera !!!!!!
Can anyone help out on our Assessment day on Saturday 14th June at J&S Delamere , we start at 10.00am and finish at 16.00hrs , any time you can spare we be greatly appreciated
Do you the members have any ideas on how to celebrate twenty years as a motorcycle club , come on let’s have some thought and get back to myself and see if we can make good use of the weather !!!!
Maybe a track day at Darley Moore??
They do 1/2 days at £60 each and is limted to 24 riders per session. Maybe SCAM could take over a full session and I am sure there would be a healthy discount for on mass bookings.
Will look into it if I can and sorry please use South Cheshire instead of scam trying to get rid of old name
John, you are so right about the name. I never usually… South Cheshire AM from now on 🙂
I have a clutch lever from an 02 (pre-Vtec) Honda VFR 800. Anybody need one?? Want one??

Of course things never go to plan. Those 5 weeks and more have passed, and some of them have been horrendous for Aoife and her parents, but things are settling on to an even keel. She started her final two weeks of intensive treatment last Friday, and since then she has gone from strength to strength. Smiling, laughing, giggling and full of energy. Adam and Mairead have great difficulty getting her to sleep, and they don’t care. She is on a 4 day break from treatment, then 5 final doses finishing on Saturday 17th. Once she is well -should take a week or so – and back to feeding normally she will be allowed home for the first time in a while. There follows two years of regular medication and check-ups, but all should be well. Thanks again for your support of my ride for Cancer Research. It’s great to think that others will benefit, as she has, from the best available and continually improving treatments. Great thanks also go to the Staff in ward 84 Manchester Childrens’ Hospital who regularly have gone over and beyond the call of duty.
I think I speak for all at the Club Don and say how glad and relieved for Aoife and parents that the ordeal is nearly over and the Wood’s can get back to some form of normality, our wishes and get well to Aoife can’t wait to see her on a motorcycle with Grandad
Good to see the website getting shape. Well done Andy and Committee.
Thanks to all those supporting Cancer Research through my justgiving page. If you’ve not donated yet there is plenty of time.
I am completing the ride on June 6th. Leaving Lowestoft at 4.30 am or sunrise. Several people have offered their company. If you don’t mind I would like to start alone, for several reasons. First I’ve set the challenge, secondly I want to get in the mind set of being in the “zone”. Next I may need to push on early doors, and I have no wish to compromise anyone else or have to worry about them.
Once in the Midlands I’ll be more than happy to see you. I hope to re-fuel at Corley Services near Coventry by 7.15, and Montford Bridge for Breakfast by 8.30. Leaving their by 9 latest to take A5 through Wales to Holyhead. If I was lingering in Ireland it would be great to see you, but the ferries are not cheap, and I’m returning to Dublin then home via overnight to Liverpool.
Thanks again for your support. My Granddaughter is in a rough patch at the moment, but we’re assured things are going as expected, and in the last 5 weeks of her intensive treatment.
Keep it shiny side up,
